The sun!
My plan is to go home over lunch hour and practice yoga in the conservatory and hopefully soak up some of this vitamin D.

what a freakin' productive day!
Seriously folks, I accomplished so much today. I have to document it, if just for the ability to look back on it and think how much I accomplished in one day.
Started with breakfast of yogurt, banana and flax seed.
1. Yoga practice - with the little ashtanga yoga community in Chorlton (Yasmin is an awesome teacher). Thankfully, I packed clothes to change into after class.
2. Off to Unicorn - the only local organic grocery - reminds me of Food Front back home. Bought a ready prepared lunch - quinau (sp?) and veggies.
3. Navigated to this bedroom shop and bought the spare bedroom furniture! Yeah - of course have to wait five weeks for it to be deliverd, but so don't care. I can finally check this off my to do list.
4. Back to John Lewis (kinda like a Macy's back in the states but a bit nicer) - anyway, I returned the broken bread machine. And I found a mirror that fits the bathroom. Finally I have a mirror for the bathroom - it only took four months to find one.
5. Recycling Center - three large bags of bottles, paper, etc.
6. Filled the car up with gas!
7. Back home - put away groceries.
8. Walked to little store in neighborhood to get my flax seed and other misc. stuff.
9. Came home, made a cup of tea and had some of the halvah from the co-op. Read Elle magazine. Took a 10 minute nap in my purple chair.
10. Cleaned the entire house. Vacumed upstairs, scrubbed the bathroom, vacumed downstairs, cleaned the wood floors (vinegar/water), three loads of laundry - done and put away.
11. Took a shower in the very clean bathroom.
12. Finally just after 8pm I made a simple dinner - a mix of sprouted mung beans, lentils, etc, with avocado and smoked fish. With some white wine. Later some dark chocolate and then later some almonds. A second glass of white wine.
13. Now it's almost 10pm.
Seriously, it feels f'ing great to have accomplished so much.
Tomorrow's plans:
1. yoga
2. shop for a desk for D!
3. Cat stuff - need to get the cat supplies
4. Journal
5. Relax and prepare for an insane week at work

Friday night
Geesh - I'm becoming boring.
Let's see, I'm tired and feeling uncreative and I'm tired.
It's 9:30 pm and I'm going to bed. Will listen to my iPOD and read Yoga Journal.

procrastination
Seriously, I'm the best procrastinator - ever! Not just big things, but the simple things. And then when I actually do whatever it is that I'm procrastinating - I wonder why the hell I waited so long.
Example 1:
I bought a TV when I came back from Portland. I knew that after buying the license I needed to call the TV police and pay a £145.00 license fee. No big deal. So, why did I wait two weeks to do it? I carried the phone number with me all this time, looked at it, and decided oh, I'll do it later. Finally, today I took a whole 2 minutes, made the call and registered. So, why the hell did I wait so long?
I could go on with more examples, but really there's no need. Because I as sit here and write this post I'm actually procrastinating packing for my Amsterdam trip tomorrow. Point made.
Granted it doesn't mean I'm doing nothing all day. Quite the contrary. But now it just sounds like I'm making excuses. So, I think I'm just going to bring this post to a close.

January 22? already?
Tomorrow will be two weeks back in Wilmslow.
Suprisingly, it's gone fast. Perahps it's becuase I first landed on Sunday afternoon - worked a full week - flew to Paris for the week-end - worked another full week - and just spent most of the day doing yoga.
Still so many unknowns that I have to deal with.
How do we get the cats over here?
When does D get his butt over here?
I can tell D is really worried about the cats and how I'm going to manage this. And yes, me. He doesn't have anything to do with it. So, I'm going to pay a ton of money to get these critters over here. It's the only way. If I do it myself and mess it up - who know what will happen. Not a risk I want to take.
I have to finalize the company this week and set the date.
I'm a bit stressed how I'm going to pull this off.
Breath....

1-11-11
Today is January 11, 2011 - 1-11-11. Unfortunately I was working and didn't recognize the time at 11:11 this morning on 1-11-11. But hey, can look forward to that in November!
Okay - I'm back in the good 'ole UK! I thought if I'd put an ! it would make it a positive thing. I arrived back on Sunday afternoon to a very quite and lonely house. I threw out the few veggies left in the fridge and made a trip to the grocery store. Unpacked all my bags, put stuff away - it's amazing how much you can cram into large suitcases. I don't just bring back clothes - this time I included picture frames, a small lamp, table cloths and other odd trinkets. It helps this place feel more like home.
I decided before leaving Portland that I was going to buy a TV once I got back here. It's just too lonely and let's face it, sometimes you just want to sit your ass down in front of a tele. So on Monday, I drove over to John Lewis (the only department store nearby - thankfully it's a very nice one) and bought not just one tele - but two! One for downstairs and omg - one for the bedroom. Once D arrives - the bedroom tele will go to the guest room. And, oh, I drove to JL in my new BMW!
I got home last night, immediately unpacked the TV for the living room and was in the middle of setting it up when the doorbell rang. Okay - it's dark by now and I really didn't want to answer it, as I was in my normal evening garb - sweatpants. I answered it and it was the water meter reader. Of course. Lord knows what he thought of me. The hallway is littered with the TV box and all the wrappings - it looked like a ten year old tore through the box at Christmas time. In addition, I had to move my big purple chair out to the hallway to make room for the television. It was laying on it's side - you couldn't even walk by it. So he comes in and is standing there in the hallway, and I start blabbing about being new and moving crap around and lord knows what. He's just staring at me. We make it past the chair and unluck the door to the basement - he goes down. And I realize I should know where the main water valve is to turn off (ya never know when I'll need to do that). He says sure - come on down. So, I'm in the creepy basement with a guy I don't know with only a flashlight - and I wonder if I'm going to make it back up alive. (I'm not kidding - I seem to like to freak myself out in these positions).
Of course, I made it back up just fine. Said good-bye and was told I would see him in another six months.
Back to the TV. I set it up, turned it and what do you know - it worked!!! I don't have cable, but am pleasantly suprised to see how many stations you get here - a ton of them. I found the Simpsons and called home to D. He was shocked and laughing that I was so quick to buy a TV. He asked why I didn't shop around. Really? Why? It couldn't be because stores are only open until 5 - maybe 6. JL is the only store near work. If I didn't do it now it would be two weeks from now that I could go into Manchester or drive around aimlessly trying to find a freakin' sale on a TV when it doesn't even matter becuase I get to expense it anyway!
And perhaps you wonder why I couldn't go shopping for a TV this week-end. Well, that's becuase I'm off to Paris with a new girlfriend. Wow! Not only did I finally make a friend - but we're off to Paris.
Okay - I suck. With such good fortune I'm waiting for something bad too happen.
But no, more good news. Today I came into work to find out they give me a petrol card - meaning I don't have to pay for gas. Do you know how expensive gas is here? I had to fill up my rental car (VW Golf) and it cost £60 - that's like $100 US dollars. Crazy.
So happy 1-11-11.
(And yes, I know I still need to call home and talk to mom. Who really hates me now.)
